For my family

Who came to America in pursuit of a dream - and for all those who have served to protect it.

For 250 years, the story of this nation has endured through courage, sacrifice, and faith. And to every child reading this: you are part of that story.

The Author

John C. Allen IV

JOHN ALLEN is the founder and president of The Allen Company and serves as Director of Sponsorships & Strategic Engagement for America250, the official nonpartisan organization tasked by Congress with planning the nation’s 250th anniversary. In this role, John collaborates with some of the country’s most iconic brands and organizations to educate, engage, and unite millions of Americans.

A lifelong storyteller and writer, John is passionate about creating work that inspires children and families to see themselves as part of America’s ongoing story. His love for words and storytelling began early, inspired by his father, who wrote poetry and music before entering public service and politics, instilling in him the belief that stories have the power to shape hearts, minds, and legacies.

“As a former teacher, I’ve seen how the right story at the right moment can spark confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.”
